You don’t need a theme – wedding is the theme. Traditional fall colors are red, orange, yellow, brown….but you can have whatever colors you and your fiance like.
The weather should still be relatively nice in the Florida Keys in September.
We got married last Sept. and used a mix of fall colors with Royal Purple. Mostly Copper and Royal Purple. We did a Mexican theme (and the buffet style food was cheap!), we tied in the colors to traditional Mexican elements like candles, suns, etc……
I love the idea of pink and coral or burgundy and peach for a late summer/early fall wedding. I think it blends in well and isn’t overly done
Here’s some examples:

I don’t see why you need a “theme”. What like, maple syrup would be your theme, so everything would be maple colored, maple cake, maple flavors???
I plan on having mine the same time, and Im going a celery green main color, copper/bronze second color and accents of red/orange/yellow. No theme neccessary
First off it won’t be cold in the keys! It will be stunning and warm in september! You can check out http://www.weatherchannel.com and they can give you historic weather data that can help you out with planning- lots of swimwear and lots of sunscreen is my advice:)
You can have whatever colors you choose- its your day! But a beautiful fall theme is great for late september. My sister is marrying in med september and doing a fall theme. She is using Fern green gowns from david;s bridal along with fall leaves to incorportate more of a autumn look.
My September wedding we went with purple, ivory and black. On the reception tables I found some metallic Autumn leaves (Michael’s) and had them scattered in the middle of the tables with a single votive candle in the middle for ambiance. There was no really other things I set around the season though. Just my favorite colors.
You could go with the traditional colors, like red, orange brown, green, etc. If you choose this color scheme, you could do a lot…leaves, pumpkins, or pinecones on the tables, etc.
However, if you are not digging those colors, you should choose what you like. I am not having a theme for my wedding, I just want it to be classic and elegant.
