What are some affordable wedding locations in Kansas City?

My fiance and I were planning on getting married in Vegas, but now we want a quick wedding with a large reception in Kansas City before we go. Does anyone know of any places that are affordable for our wedding reception? We plan on getting married at our church

I am not sure where in K.C. you want to have your reception – it would help if I knew where the church was. I know of several places in K.C. that are very affordable for weddings.
If it’s way south in Johnson Co., the the best place is also the cheapest – the Spring Hill Community Center – rates from $75 to $175 bucks – http://www.springhillks.com/community/assets/banquet.html
I have a friend who is using the VFW hall t get married in June – she got it for $400 dollars and that includes a bartender, free soda, and security. http://www.ksvfw.org/ksposts.shtml
If you are over in Wyandotte Co, check out the James P. Davis Hall – it’s $400 for residents and beautiful – renys though parks & rec dept. – http://www.wycokck.org/dept.aspx?id=2018&menu_id=1016&ekmensel=1016_submenu_1226_link_2
Over is Lee’s Summit, the Masonic Hall is available for rent.
For Kansas City itself, you might want to check out this list – http://www.eventective.com/USA/Missouri/Kansas+City/Wedding-Receptions.html

    Congratulations!

There are 2 great sources for finding wedding reception sites in Kansas City.

One is at http://www.perfectweddingguide.com/kansas-city/reception_locations.asp. This lists some of the best reception venues in KC. The problem is that you’ll need to contact those sites by email or phone to get an idea of their pricing.

Another great source is http://www.brides.com/local/missouri/site_location/reception_sites/results. The nice thing is that they have a filter on the left that allows you to narrow down by price range. The down side is there are only a few sites listed there, and they’re not all from KC.

However, I think my using the 2 of those sites, you’ll can easily find a reception venue that will work for you (and your wedding budget.)

    Good luck!
