My fiance is the biggest baseball fan. Any fun ideas how I can include baseball themes into our wedding?
We are very eccentric people. And we are definetely wanting a nontraditional wedding. We want it to just be fun but including our love of baseball as a theme is something I am having a hard time figuring out. Any suggestions would be great!

My first suggestion would be to see how much it would cost to be married or have the reception at the local ball park. I know Kauffman Stadium (home to the KC Royals) will rent out space for events such as weddings.
The rest would depend on how “baseball-y” you want to go. Although, I would probably concentrate on baseball in like the 40’s or 30’s or something, rather than today.
Is it possible to have a personlize message from one of his all time favorite players? I did come across one wedding where the bride had her bridemaids in the team colors and the mascot came to the reception.
There are loads of fun ways to incorporate different themes into weddings these days! There are small things like purchasing a garter belt of your man’s fave team (usually found on ebay), or you can go bigger like having a baseball themed wedding cake, or invitations.
There is a website called http://www.theknot.com, there are loads of forums full of soon-to-be brides, and already brides who are full of info and great ideas. I practically lived there for a year before our wedding!
Best of luck and congrats!
Yes, having the wedding at a baseball field would be perfect. You can tell you guests to wear caps from their favorite team, and maybe even play a ball game during the reception!
You can somehow utilize pictures or items dealing with the baseball hall of fame inductees.
Have the ring barer carry rings in a glove.
Instead of numbers on the tables at the reception, you could have a Babe Ruth table or a Jackie Robinson table with little known facts about each person underneath the picture.
As parting gifts, you can give away baseballs in a clear box with you and your fiance’s photo on it and the date of the wedding, or chocolate cigars with your wedding date on it. Of course you can serve hot dogs.
YOU ARE THE COOLEST LADY EVER!
To incorporate your fianace’s passion into your wedding shows the amount of love & sacrifice that you have in this relationship!
Good luck & enjoy!
What about a groom’s cake shaped like a baseball, or glove?
Definitely have the reception a ball park, if you can’t get majors try the minors.
Also you could name the tables after teams instead of table numbers. Then the center piece could be devoted to that team.
Make the wedding colors his favorite team colors, let the groomsmen wear baseball uniforms, let the bridesmaids wear girls baseball outfits like from the movie “A League of Their Own”
For favors find little bat shaped pens and have engraved with or get a sticker for them that says “we hit a home run”then your names and dates. There are several things that you can do,….how about getting married on a baseball diamond? then chasing each other around the bases?
First of all Congrats, mayb yourcake could be a base ball field and your knife can be in the sape of a baseball bat, your theme can be stripes or black and white, the favours can be personalised mini baseballs or bats.. thats all i can think of..
Packs of baseball cards are very inexpensive at baseball supply (Batting) stores, and you can include at reception.
Here is something very simple just put a home plate were you and your soon to be husband stand at the alltor, then possible serve somthing that has a round shape. Simple and neat
How bout writing him a little poem incorporating baseball phrases… today is a home run…you will always be my MVP.
Indtead of numbering the tables you could use team or player names.
You could get life size pics of players to line the walls like they are attending the wedding.
When they introduce you at the reception you could play that CHARGE! song.
how bout one formal picture of the bridal party all wearing a team cap?
Do you live near a stadium? Some of the ballparks will rent out some of their facilities for a ceremony. Some will even let you go on field during the off season.
Got favorite teams? One couple I know (football fans) were fans of rival teams. Her maids worn her color team while the groomsmen, his. The Officiant wore a ref outfit. The ceremony address spoke of passes being completed, team goals, etc. You need an officiant that is flexible on this.
What about centerpieces with baseballs? Or arrangements with team pennants? If you have programs, what about doing it as a team line-up?
Favors could be ballglove shaped cookies.
Placecards use copied ballcards.
What about a white cake with red stitching?

as a favor- you could give out baseball cards- but with your picture on it together! The stats can be the dates you guys have been together, anniversaries you have, fun stuff like that!
have a outside wedding on the ball court. It will look great, have it all decorated up and it will be sweet.
Have the flower girl wearing your favorite team jersery and the ring boy in the grooms favorite team have the ring boy carry the rings in a ring box that looks like a baseball
Baseball trivia cards at the dining tables (you can make them on your computer) so the guests have something to do together during the reception if they don’t like dancing.
For our wedding, my husband gave all the groomens personalized wooden bats. The guys seemed to really like them!
We found them doing a google search
I don’t know about the wedding part of it unless you go to a nearby stadium like everyone else has mentioned. BUT for the reception you could have food like what you’d get at the ballpark when you go to a game (hot dogs, nachos, etc). It would probably be pretty cheap too! You could have little bags of popcorn or cotton candy for favors & stuff too.
There are endless opportunities. Good luck with it. Sounds like a lot of fun!
Your bouquet can be all white flowers gathered tightly, with tiny red flowers lined through it like the stitching in a baseball. I think that would be so cute!
grooms cake of his fave team or shape of base ball
my cousin has been into baseball all his life and was a coach for a team…his wife to be knew this and they got married on home plate in the baseball field that his team played at. She had a beautiful unique wedding and he had part of himself in it as well.
You could have your placecards be these baseball card like pictures of you and your fiance, they could double as your favors! Then you could have baseball themed decorations. Possibly the bridesmaids wearing your teams colors & the groomsmen wearing his teams colors. Instead of a boutineer (sp) the groomsmen can wear little team mascots pinned to their suits. For a centerpiece you could try and have the flowers come around a baseball or mit. Maybe your Hor’ durves could be foods that you would get at the ballpark?! You can do crazy things like buy a bunch of cheap tossable cameras and have some sports gear availible for guests to dress up in and take pictures! Just get creative and have fun!
