Can anyone give me ideas for a black & blue wedding theme?

Can anyone give me ideas for a black & blue wedding theme??? I really need help and ideas. My bridesmaid dresses are going to be black and I want to tie in a blue color. I have been looking all over the internet for ideas and I can’t seem to find anything. I know black is becoming way popular but I just can’t seem to find anything. Can anyone please help me and point me in the right direction? Thank you in advance!

black and blue sounds painful, not like a wedding theme.

try pink and chocolate, thats becoming popular.

Your possibilities are endless. You should choose the blue color you are most fond of and it use it as the accent color to go with the black. For example, put all the girls in black dresses and then have a hint of blue somewhere on the dress maybe with blue shoes. Then you could have them carrying some kind of beautiful blue flowers. As for the guys, have the dark black tuxs with the blue accent used on the undercoats. Then you can accent all the decorations with bits of blue as well for example, blue flowers, blue balloons, blue punch, blue candles etc. Use your imagination and I am sure it will be absolutely beautiful. Good luck and congrats!

Beat everyone up!!! haha! Just kidding!

I think it can look very nice if you choose the right blue. Go to a fabric or craft store and look at different color blues next to black…

Once you have chosen your exact colors you can go from there… a lot of dress shops or designers let you pick and choose the colors of the dresses and add sashes. You can also have the black and blue color throughout your venue (ie. ribbons around the flower bouquets and vases on the tables, linens… etc.)

    Good Luck!

A wedding I was at did bridesmaids in black dresses, bright turquoise sashes, and gerbera daisy bouquets in orange, red, pink and yellow. There were custom-ordered blue M & M’s.

for the dresses, do little black dresses with a blue sash around the waist, (leave extra room so that when tied they hang down a bit, longer ties look nicer, in my opinion).
Have you looked at http://www.theknot.com? They have AMAZING ideas for every colour!
    good luck!

Black and blue is an unusual combination, for sure. I would pick a brighter blue shade, like turquoise, something that will really stand out against the black. Instead of searching for your specific color combo, try searching through blue-themed weddings until you find ones that have your chosen shade of blue. Or when you settle on a specific shade enter the shade-name into your search i.e. “black turquoise wedding” I did a search and this bridesmaid dress was one of the many things that came up… http://www.mygirldress.com/sabushbrdr.html or http://www.tjformal.com/Products/25735/Mori-Lee-Bridesmaid-Dress-735-4-Week-Delivery Here you can see different combos with dress. Try a black dress with a blue sash also… http://www.davidsbridal.com/personalizeyourparty.jsp

There are also a lot of turquoise and black wedding invitations which were very pretty… http://www.imaginewedding.co.uk/tiffany%20wedding%20stationery.htm or http://www.mygatsby.com/product.jsp?ProductID=404832

Here is where you can search the knot by blue… http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/realweddings/results.aspx?type=3&colors=Blue I see tons of blue and black there. By the way, tell people your colors are blue and black, instead of black and blue. So they don’t think of bruising : ) Hope this helped!

Black and blue is nice. Do you mean power blue, navy blue, or medium blue? You can do a black dress with blue sashes, shoes, and blue flowers. I recommend going with a lighter shade of blue to pop against the black.

Black is as neutral as you can get, so anything goes with it!
